Aakanksha Gulati
City Director, Delhi
"I have been shaped as a product of two very different schooling systems in India and the US, and have been fortunate to experience up close the benefits and challenges of both. By the time I went to college, I knew that I wanted to work in a field that would help me seek answers to what is a good education, what is the best delivery mechanism for a good education and how can it be delivered at scale to every child.
Eventually, I walked out of Wall Street and strategy consulting jobs, asking what it would take to make education the most glamorous sector to work in, attracting the best talent and resources to make the world a better place."
Aakanksha began her career as a trader on Wall Street with Lehman Brothers, followed by a stint at Keefe, Bruyette and Woods as Assistant Vice President. She later transitioned into strategy consulting at The Boston Consulting Group where she was responsible for organisational transformation and pre-merger planning for banking sector clients as well as strategic planning for one of the largest global NGOs. Prior to Teach For India, Aakanksha was working in a strategy and marketing role at MarkSharks, an EdTech start-up. Aakanksha has completed her Master’s in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management and holds a Double Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from Duke University.
