Pune

Pune has witnessed a stark contrast - on the one hand being referred to as the ‘Oxford of the East’, though unfortunately, displaying daunting realities. Government-run schools in Pune only go up to the 7th grade, leaving Students from under-resourced communities with just two options, shifting to expensive private schools or dropping out. Recognising the pressing need for commitment to the classroom, our Alumni have been working collaboratively to ensure that no child gets left behind. The city currently experiences support from everywhere to erase an inequity that can be quite destabilising.
