The Maya Musical, a story of 30 children on a life-changing journey to find their light was a partnership between Teach For India and Artists Striving to End Poverty.

The original script accompanied with Broadway composed music told the story of Princess Maya's journey. Tasked to bring light back into her Kingdom, Maya and her friends used the values of courage, compassion, and wisdom to lift 3 great curses that had been cast on the world. Staged in November 2014, the children, like Maya, embarked on a journey of their own, where they showcased their values, and discovered their brightest light.

Over the next 18 months, all 11 shows received standing ovations, and Maya became a symbol of the kind of education all children deserve - one that integrates academics, values and mindsets, access and exposure.
